Afroditi Boura

Afroditi Boura is a Senior Partner at Pnyx Hill Group and leads the Group’s Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Advisory services in the UAE. She brings over 25 years of international experience advising regulated firms across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with a particular focus on (re)insurance, and captive structures and financial services.

A recognised GRC specialist, Afroditi provides strategic leadership on regulatory strategy, licensing, governance frameworks, and supervisory engagement across UAE-based and cross-border mandates. Her perspective is shaped by hands-on experience across the industry, having worked within regulated institutions, as a regulatory authority, and as a senior advisor to global firms. This enables her to bridge regulatory expectations with commercial realities in complex operating environments.

In addition to her advisory work, Afroditi is an experienced executive trainer, delivering governance, compliance, and regulatory programmes to boards, senior management, and regulated professionals. Her training work is grounded in real-world supervisory practice and operational execution, supporting institutions in embedding governance disciplines beyond policy into day-to-day decision-making.

Afroditi is a Founding Member and Director of the Association of Reinsurance (ADGM) - ARIA and is a frequent speaker at regional and international industry forums. She is certified across multiple ISO standards and is authorised to act as Senior Compliance and MLRO Officer in the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. Throughout her career, she has advised global firms and financial institutions on regulatory readiness, jurisdictional licensing, and long-term governance sustainability.
